The Parrots and Pirates of ESENCE present a delightful variety of specially trained parrots for the public to view, pet, hold, and cuddle. The elaborately dressed Pirates and their colorful "crew" of 10 to 15 parrot species, perform at fairs, festivals, schools, public libraries, business and private parties, bird shows and clubs, etc., revealing the enchanting personality, rare beauty, and significant value of parrots and other endangered species. This program is appreciated by all age groups and cultures and receives great reviews from the event coordinators as well as members of the audience.
The ESENCE show is generally available in these forms:
STATIC DISPLAY - An interactive and hands-on display, in a set location, wherein the public may view, pet, hold, and/or cuddle the birds under the supervision of the "pirate" parrot trainers. No formal "stage show" is conducted.
STAGE SHOW - Through one or more interactive stage shows or educational workshops, the public learns of what makes a parrot a "parrot", common parrot behavior characteristics, where parrots live, etc.. The birds perform select behavioral tricks including speech and free flight demonstrations. The show is followed by a Question & Answer period and then hands-on time similar to the "static display" listed above.
THE PARROTS PIRATE SHIP - The pirates can also include their very own authentic pirate ship, the "Nesika". When set up, the ship is about 40 feet long, from the bowsprit to stern (front to rear), and stands about 35 feet above the ground. Requires about 6 hours to set up and 3 hours to tear down.
There are four elements to this show which are unique to our programs 1) The fun and informative educationally based show, 2) Safe and friendly hands-on by the public with our birds, 3) A one of a kind realistic Pirate Ship Display complete with pirates, and 4) Non tethered and non caged Freeflying parrots that often of their own whim wildly fly about the fairgrounds (often in tight formation) for a once of a life time view of parrots flying like wild birds but, to the amazement of fairgoers, always coming back to the ship display.
The Parrots and Pirates of ESENCE often "set sail" in the Pacific Northwest and arrangements can be made to meet them in other areas as well - this year and last year we traveled as far as Memphis, TN.
